Parking on Balboa Island can be challenging. Often the demand is much greater than the actual availability. During peek months (late May- August) parking can be very difficult.
Please note all dogs are strictly prohibited on the beach and bay front areas between the hours of 9am and 5pm. All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times (6 maximum).
Private garage sales during the year are permitted. All signage must be removed by the Monday after your garage sale is held. Please be considerate of your neighbors at all times.
ALL alcohol is strictly on ANY beach in Newport Beach and Balboa Island. You may not carry an open container while walking on any public sidewalk or street.
All of the beaches on Balboa Island are public. There are five public piers located around the island painted blue. Any pier painted white is considered a private pier and may not be accessed by the public. Please be respectful and stay off private piers.
Part of the Balboa Islands charm is its peace and quiet. There is a noise ordinance in effect between 10:00pm and 7:00am every day. Please be considerate of your neighbors at all times.
No fireworks are permitted in the city of Newport Beach, this includes Balboa Island. Violators will be ticketed and fines are exorbitant!
Golf carts are encouraged on the island. All drives MUST BE licensed drivers. Minors are not permitted to operate golf carts in Newport Beach.
