Dogs are welcome in Newport Beach and on Balboa Island.
Please note all dogs are strictly prohibited on the beach and bay front areas between the hours of 9am and 5pm. All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times (6 maximum). Walking your dog on the islands sidewalks and bay front walkway is permitted.
You are required by law in Newport Beach to carry a doggie bag and pick up after your dog while on walks or runs. There is a $500.00 fine for any dog nuisances not immediately picked up by the owner. Doggy bags are provided in dispensers located around the island.
Please note: Many store owners DO NOT appreciate pets of any size in their shops and may ask you to step outside with your pet.
