Public Announcement from the City… “The City is launching a free transportation option on the Balboa Peninsula starting on Saturday, June 17. The Balboa Peninsula Trolley will operate each Saturday and Sunday through September 3, 2017. It will also be in service on the Fourth of July holiday. The hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Tell your friends and visitors that FREE parking is available to trolley users at the lower Hoag Hospital parking lot at Hoag Drive and Coast Highway. The trolley has 18 designated stops along the route from the Hoag parking lot to the Balboa Pier/Fun Zone area.
There will be four trolleys each day that are estimated to arrive at every stop in 15-minute intervals. The trolleys have a bicycle rack on the front (holds two bicycles), surfboards under six-feet in length can be held on board in an upright position and there is space for your beach gear or groceries too.
To learn more about the trolley, please visit our website at newportbeachca.gov/trolley.”
Riders can view real-time trolley locations online at peninsulatrolley.com or on a mobile app. To download the app, search for “Ride Systems” in the app store and download. Once installed, search for “Newport Beach” from the list of agencies.
